Curved Sapphire Crystal
The 3172 Twelve Knights uses a curved (domed) sapphire crystal rather than the flat sapphire found on most OUPINKE models. A curved sapphire is more complex and expensive to produce than flat sapphire — the dome profile sits higher over the dial, creating visible depth between the crystal surface and the dial face below. This adds a three-dimensional quality to the dial view and gives the watch a slightly more classical profile from the side. Mohs 9 hardness — scratch-resistant under normal daily wear.
Guilloché Dial and Sword-Shaped Hour Markers
The dial centre uses a CD-style radial guilloché pattern — concentric wave engraving that scatters and refracts light differently at different angles. The pattern is most visible under natural or directional light, where the concentric lines create a moving, layered depth effect. In flat diffuse light the dial reads as a clean, textured surface.
The twelve hour markers are sword-shaped applied gold-tone elements — three-dimensional raised markers with a blade profile, referencing the twelve knights of the Round Table. Proprietary OUPINKE automatic movement, 21 synthetic ruby jewels, 21,600 vph. Power reserve approximately 45 hours from full wind. Self-winding bidirectional rotor; manual winding via the crown. If the watch has been unworn for more than 45 hours, wind manually before wearing to restore accurate timekeeping immediately. No battery required.
Tungsten and Stainless Steel Bracelet
Pyramid-link tungsten carbide and stainless steel bracelet — the distinctive OUPINKE link format with raised diamond-cut pyramid faces across the centre links. On the two-tone variants the centre links carry gold-tone accents. Butterfly double clasp with push-button release. Bracelet circumference 20cm; link removal via standard pin tool. Weight 136g — the lightest of the OUPINKE dress watches, 1mm slimmer case thickness than the 3171 and 3169.
