The tonneau (barrel) case shape is a curved rectangular form wider at the centre than at the lugs — distinct from the round cases that dominate the watch market and the rectangular cases associated with dress watches. Synthetic Sapphire Crystal

The crystal is synthetic sapphire — Mohs hardness 9, second only to diamond on the hardness scale. It will not scratch under contact with most everyday materials including keys, coins, and metal surfaces. Three coatings are applied: an anti-fingerprint plating layer, a soft fibre cushion protection layer, and a blue light resistance layer — the last of which reduces reflective glare from LED and screen light sources.

Swiss Luminous

The hands and hour indices carry Swiss luminous powder — a high-brightness phosphorescent material that charges under ambient and UV light and emits a sustained glow in darkness. Charge and emission duration are superior to standard Chinese luminous powder at the same price point.

Automatic Movement

The 3179 runs an automatic mechanical movement — self-winding via a bidirectional rotor that charges the mainspring through wrist movement. No battery required. Power reserve is approximately 40–45 hours from full wind. The watch can also be hand-wound by turning the crown approximately 20 turns when the power reserve is depleted. If worn for at least 8 hours daily, the rotor maintains adequate charge without manual winding.

The movement is visible through both the open dial and the exhibition case back — the balance wheel oscillation and gear train are observable during operation.

50M Water Resistance

Rated to 50M / 5ATM via a pressurised sealing ring construction with anti-fog treatment. Suitable for splash exposure, rain, handwashing, cold bathing, and swimming. Not rated for snorkelling, diving, or hot spring exposure. Do not operate the crown underwater.

Dial Variants

Silver / blue accent — brushed silver case with blue luminous bridges and blue-ringed crown. The most visually complex variant in standard light; the blue accents read as a strong secondary colour throughout the movement architecture.
