Miyota 8205 vs Miyota 8215
The AM7081M uses the Miyota 8205 — an earlier Miyota caliber than the 8215 used in the AM339M sibling. The specific differences:

The 8205 lacks hacking (the seconds hand continues running while you set the time — precise to-the-second setting requires stopping at the correct moment) and hand-winding (you can’t wind the mainspring manually; wrist motion only). For a dive watch worn continuously this is rarely a practical issue. The AM7081M is appropriately priced lower than the AM339M (8215) to reflect the caliber difference.
Compressor Architecture
Same principle as the AM339M Compressor — internal rotating timing ring behind the crystal rather than an external rotating bezel. The dual crown system operates independently: outer crown for time and calendar, inner crown for the timing ring. The internal position protects the timing ring from accidental bumps and provides a sealed architecture consistent with the 200m rating.
Day-Date Display
The AM7081M shows both the current day of the week and the date simultaneously in a stacked window near 3 o’clock — more information than a date-only window. This is the same complication as the BERNY AM339M but not present on many non-BERNY divers in the range.
