The Seestern S434 V2 is a 39mm Seiko NH35A automatic diver — domed sapphire crystal, BGW9 Super Luminous on hands, markers, numerals and bezel, display caseback, screw-down crown and caseback, 316L stainless steel case at 13mm thickness and 46mm lug-to-lug, 200m water resistance. Available in black or blue dial configurations with stainless steel bracelet (micro-adjust deployment clasp) or rubber strap. Rose gold tone case options available.

Domed Sapphire Crystal
The domed (convex) crystal curves outward from the case — creating the characteristic vintage watch profile rather than the flat surface of modern tool watches. The dome creates a subtle lens effect at the dial centre and produces distinctive reflective arcs around the bezel edge. For a 39mm diver drawing from vintage dive watch aesthetics, the domed sapphire is appropriate and creates a cohesive vintage-modern character.
Domed sapphire is harder to replace than flat sapphire (curved profiles require bespoke tools) but the Mohs 9 hardness provides the same daily scratch resistance regardless of profile.
BGW9 Full Coverage
BGW9 is applied to every legibility element on the S434 V2 — hands, hour markers, Arabic numerals and bezel markings simultaneously. In complete darkness all four elements glow blue-white. Full-coverage BGW9 creates the maximum available low-light dial visibility. The blue-white tone is distinct from C3’s green glow — cooler, vintage-associated.
39mm × 46mm Lug-to-Lug
At 39mm the S434 V2 is compact — on the smaller end of the modern diver range. The 46mm lug-to-lug is proportional for the 39mm diameter (7mm of lug extension on each side) — the watch sits closely on the wrist without overhang on wrists above approximately 16cm. For buyers who find 40–42mm dive watches proportionally too large, the 39mm × 46mm is the correct size.
NH35A — Hacking and Hand-Winding
The S434 V2 uses the NH35A (the current production revision of the NH35) — full hacking and hand-winding. The display caseback presents the NH35A rotor and movement in operation. NH35A is globally serviceable and one of the most regulated affordable automatic calibers in the world.

This watch is amazing. It has the very best dial legibility and the bracelet is the best I've seen even in comparison to 2-3 thousand dollar watches. The fit of the bracelet is so good I sometimes forgot I'm wearing a watch. In addition to costing 10 thousand dollars less it's about 30 grams lighter. Why would I buy the original when I can have this amazing watch. For arguments sake let's say the seagull movement fails in the future. There is so much room in the case you could put whatever movement you want, eta, miyota, selita, the sky's the limit. I really do feel this is the perfect watch.
