GMT Function — How It Works
The orange GMT hand completes one full rotation every 24 hours, working in conjunction with the fixed 24-hour bezel engraved around the case. To read a second time zone:
- Set the main time on the standard hour and minute hands
- The orange GMT hand points to the 24-hour scale on the bezel
- Read the second time zone directly from the bezel at the GMT hand position
The fixed bezel cannot be rotated — the PD-1693 uses a hack GMT system where the main time is set independently. For a true independently-adjustable GMT hand, the Cronos L6029 NH34 uses the Seiko NH34 dedicated GMT caliber.
Pearl DG5833A Movement
The Pearl DG5833A is a Chinese automatic GMT movement — automatic winding via the rotor, no battery required. For first use or after the watch has stopped, wind manually by rotating the crown clockwise 20–30 turns until resistance is felt. The watch then maintains power through normal wrist movement.
The DG5833A is the movement specified in the product images — the listing’s references to “Japanese NH35/NH36” are inaccurate for this model.
200m Water Resistance
200m (20ATM) with screw-down crown — appropriate for swimming, snorkelling and recreational diving. Avoid hot water, steam and hot tubs, which can degrade gasket seals regardless of depth rating. Rinse with fresh water after salt water exposure.

You can’t beat this watch for the price. I mainly own Seikos and a Tudor but this watch surprised me. The fit and finish is pretty good (some sharp edges) but I took care of that with some 800 grit sandpaper. I don’t have any experience with the stainless steel strap as I had a silicon strap for it ready to go. I have a 6 1/2” (165mm) wrist and find it fits well but rather flat. As for the lume, this is where I find it lacks and fades rather quickly.

Solid and aesthetically valuable watch. I will have to learn how to use the GMT function and test it to assess its accuracy. The 316L steel bracelet has a good thickness and is extra adjustment gold for the diving suit. At the moment I am very satisfied. Sapphire glass. Date magnification, Crown and screw case. Excellent claps.
