The IXDAO X02T Titanium is a 39mm automatic dive watch built entirely in Grade 2 titanium — case, bracelet and buckle — making it one of the most fully-titanium dive watches available at this price level. Powered by the Swiss SW200 automatic movement as standard, with PT5000 and ETA 2824-2 variants available, it is fitted with a 60-click unidirectional ceramic bezel, Swiss Super-LumiNova BGW9 throughout on hands, markers and bezel pip, and a double-dome sapphire crystal sourced from Europe.
The titanium construction is the primary reason to choose the X02T Titanium over the X02T Bronze — the watch is significantly lighter due to titanium’s density (approximately 60% of steel’s weight), corrosion-resistant without developing surface patina, and biocompatible for wearers with metal sensitivities.

Grade 2 titanium is a commercially pure titanium alloy — the standard specification used in professional diving and aerospace applications for its combination of corrosion resistance, biocompatibility and strength-to-weight ratio.
Weight: titanium’s density is approximately 4.5 g/cm³ vs 7.9 g/cm³ for stainless steel — roughly 43% lighter by volume. In a watch bracelet, this weight difference is significant. The X02T Titanium on bracelet is substantially lighter than an equivalent stainless steel watch of the same dimensions.
Corrosion resistance: Grade 2 titanium is highly resistant to salt water, sweat and most chemicals that cause surface discolouration or degradation in steel. For a 200m-rated dive watch that sees regular water exposure, titanium maintains its appearance with minimal maintenance.
Biocompatibility: titanium does not cause the skin reactions that some wearers experience with nickel-containing stainless steel alloys. For wearers with metal sensitivities who cannot wear steel bracelets comfortably all day, the titanium bracelet is the correct choice.
Patina: unlike the bronze X02T variant which develops patina over time, Grade 2 titanium does not develop surface colour change through normal wear. The watch will maintain its appearance indefinitely with standard care. This is not a compromise — it is a different material character suited to different buyer preferences.
A detail worth noting explicitly: the X02T Titanium uses titanium not only for the case but for the entire bracelet and the folding safety clasp buckle. Many watches marketed as “titanium” use a titanium case with a stainless steel bracelet — the case saves weight but the bracelet does not. The X02T Titanium bracelet uses independently moulded Grade 2 titanium end links with seamless lug connection — the same construction standard as the Milan mesh bracelet on the 5303 — meaning the bracelet attaches to the case without the gap or misalignment common on universal-fit bracelets.
The folding safety clasp with the IXDAO logo engraved is also titanium, maintaining the material consistency through the full bracelet system.
The X02T Titanium uses Swiss Super-LumiNova BGW9 on all luminous elements — dial markers, hands and bezel pip. BGW9 is the standard blue-white formulation of Super-LumiNova: in ambient light it appears as a clean cool white; in darkness it emits a bright, saturated blue-white glow.
BGW9 is the highest-intensity standard Super-LumiNova formulation — brighter and longer-lasting than the retro GL Old warm-green formulation used on bronze watches and the Baltany military range. For a dive watch where lume performance is a functional requirement rather than an aesthetic preference, BGW9 is the correct specification.
The bezel pip uses the same sapphire glass luminous construction as the IPOSE 5303 — a sapphire lens element filled with lume compound rather than flat-painted lume, producing a more focused, brighter pip emission.
SW200 (standard): Swiss-manufactured by Sellita, 28,800 vph high-beat, hacking and hand-winding, ~38-hour power reserve. Regulated to ±4–7 seconds per day typically. Swiss manufacture provenance. The correct choice for buyers who want Swiss movement in the X02T Titanium.
PT5000: High-beat Chinese automatic, same 28,800 vph beat rate, hacking and hand-winding. Lower price than the SW200 variant with the same smooth seconds sweep on the wrist. The correct choice if Swiss manufacture is not a requirement.
ETA 2824-2: Swiss-made by ETA SA, the reference movement for the 2824 architecture. Best factory accuracy in the three options — some units perform better than COSC specification. The premium movement option.
The choice between these three movements does not affect any other specification — case, crystal, bezel, bracelet and water resistance are identical across all three.
The 60-click unidirectional ceramic bezel provides the dive timing function. Ceramic is significantly harder than aluminium — approximately 1,200–1,400HV vs aluminium’s 150–200HV — and will retain its markings and surface appearance through extended daily wear without the visible scratching that aluminium bezels develop.
The unidirectional rotation — counterclockwise only — is the standard dive safety specification: accidental displacement can only reduce the indicated elapsed time, not increase it, preventing underestimation of dive time.
The double-dome sapphire crystal is sourced from Europe (confirmed on IXDAO’s own product specification) and AR coated on the inner surface. The double dome — curved on both external and internal surfaces — creates the characteristic edge distortion and lens magnification effect noted by owners: “Sapphire crystal has a long taper to its dome and distorts the dial on the edges.” The AR coating eliminates surface glare while preserving the dome’s visual profile.
| X02T Titanium | X02T Bronze | |
|---|---|---|
| Case material | Grade 2 titanium | CuSn8 full bronze |
| Patina | None — stable appearance | Develops over time |
| Weight | Significantly lighter | Heavier |
| Lume | BGW9 blue-white | Old radium warm green |
| Bezel insert | Ceramic | Ceramic |
| Character | Technical sport watch | Vintage character piece |
| Movement | SW200 standard | PT5000 standard |
Choose Titanium if: you want maximum light weight, stable appearance without patina, BGW9 lume, or have metal sensitivities. The more technical and contemporary character of the two.
Choose Bronze if: you want the patina development and warm vintage character of a full bronze case, old radium lume and the distinctive CuSn8 aging process. The more individual and characterful of the two.
The X02T Titanium is built for:
vs. IXDAO JD-X02T Bronze — The Bronze X02T uses the same case architecture in full CuSn8 bronze. Choose based on patina preference vs weight and stable appearance.
vs. IXDAO IPOSE 5303 — The 5303 uses steel in a different case design with the enamel dial and 120-click bezel as its specification standouts. The X02T Titanium wins on weight and material; the 5303 wins on lume volume from the multi-layer enamel dial.
vs. San Martin Titanium 40mm Diver — The San Martin titanium is the closest direct comparison — another titanium automatic diver at a comparable price. Compare bracelet construction, bezel clicks and movement tier directly.
vs. Proxima PX1698 37mm — The Proxima PX1698 uses a different case format at 37mm. The X02T Titanium is larger at 39mm with the full titanium bracelet construction.
