Miyota 8285 — Panoramic Day-Date Layout
The 8285 provides central hours, minutes and sweeping seconds with day of the week at 12 o’clock and date at 3 o’clock. The day display at 12 is a panoramic full-word window — the complete day name appears across the top of the dial rather than in a small aperture. The 8285 is discontinued by Miyota but remains available in existing stock. The discontinued status means new supply is finite — replacement movements for future servicing will be sourced from parts stock rather than current production.
The 8285 quick-set date allows advancing the date without running through all 24 hours — pull the crown to the first position to advance the date independently.

The dial can be printed with any customer-supplied image, logo or pattern. The process:
