The 12-hour chronograph register is the VK67’s key advantage over the VK64 for practical use. A 60-minute chronograph (VK64) can only measure elapsed periods up to one hour; once the minute hand completes a full revolution it returns to zero and the previous hour is lost. The VK67’s 12-hour register tracks total elapsed hours across the full measurement period — relevant for any timing use that exceeds one hour: race stages, work intervals, cooking, travel timing.

The date window adds practical daily utility. The VK64 has a cleaner dial without date; the VK67 prioritises function over minimal dial design.

Both movements produce a smooth-sweeping central chronograph hand via the mechanical module — standard meca-quartz behaviour.

Dual Super-LumiNova — BGW9 and Retro

The S205045 uses two Super-LumiNova formulations simultaneously, applied to different dial elements. This is the same dual-lume approach used on the Baltany S2081 military field watch and creates a specific functional and aesthetic effect.

BGW9 on the digital Arabic numerals — the standard blue-white formulation. In ambient light the numerals appear as a clean cool white. In darkness they emit a bright, saturated blue-white glow — the most intense of the Super-LumiNova variants.

Retro lume on the tick marks — the warm cream-yellow GL Old formulation. In ambient light the tick marks appear as a warm cream tone. In darkness they emit a warm green, noticeably different from the BGW9 blue-white on the numerals.

The result in complete darkness — visible in image 7 — is a two-colour lume display: BGW9 blue-white numerals against retro warm-green tick marks. The contrast between the two colours makes the scale immediately readable — the numerals and the scale marks are visually distinct without requiring interpretation.

This dual-lume application is unusual on a chronograph at this price level and requires careful application of two separate lume compounds to two different dial elements.

Case — Bead-Blasted 316L Steel

The bead-blasted case finish is visible in the side profile image: a fine, uniform matte surface across all case surfaces produced by directing abrasive beads at the steel under pressure. The result is a non-reflective surface that reads as military-specification and does not show micro-scratches the way polished or brushed finishes do.

The bead-blasted finish is distinct from brushed: brushed steel has a directional grain (visible as parallel lines); bead-blasted steel has an omnidirectional texture with no visible grain direction. Under strong light, bead-blasted steel shows a fine sparkle rather than the directional sheen of brushed steel.

The knurled crown and two knurled chronograph pushers are visible in image 5 — the knurling on all three matches the bead-blasted body for a consistent tactile and visual character throughout.

Water Resistance — 100m

The 100m rating with screw-in crown and caseback makes the S205045 suitable for swimming and snorkelling. For a chronograph this rating is particularly useful — the pushers are sealed on this model, allowing chronograph operation in wet conditions without compromising water resistance.

Do not operate the crown or pushers while submerged. The 100m rating applies with all pushers in their resting position.
